KARC, Inc. had an eventful 2007. We received IRS 501 (c) (3) Tax Exempt designation, which will enable us to seek and to receive tax exempt contributions from ham radio supporters. While the record keeping chores may have increased, the enhanced organizational status will be rewarding for years to come. KARC relocated it's meeting facility from South Charleston’s Municipal Court Annex to the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority’s (KCEAA) office at 601 Brooks St Charleston, WV. KCEAA has tremendous meeting facilities, amble parking and easy access (once you know the way). Field Day 2007 was a great success! Tina Clark, K8TAC, provided her able leadership skills for a fun and rewarding weekend. We finished second in our class in West Virginia. KARC continued to serve the communications needs for the Kanawha Valley during 2007. Our members provided important communications support for the Armed Forces Day Parade in South Charleston, the Rattlesnake 50k, CAMP Stem and the South Charleston Christmas Parade. We are excited about 2008 with communication support for our community, state and nation. Thanks to all our officers and directors for their support and hard work.
